This DVD presents forms from many of the related Kempo systems that evolved from James Mitose's teaching in Hawaii from 1942 to 1946. Hanshi Juchnik introduces the project of unifying these arts through respect and the search for similarities, with forms performed by senior practitioners representing systems including the Trias lineage, Bakufu Kempo through Richard Lee and Al Tracy, the Yang Tai Chi of Bing Fai Lau, the Fred Valeri and Nick Cerio lineage, the Kempo of Jim Sereff in Colorado, the White Lion of the Chi Lin Pai system, and others. The tape stands as a record of the diversity within Kempo and an invitation to keep an open mind toward all branches that grew from Mitose Sensei's roots.
